The ladle refining furnace roof is based on the conditions that the furnace roof materials are frequently subjected to thermal shock, corrosion of steel slag and Co, CO2 and SO2 gas in the furnace, radiation of high-temperature arc, airflow wear caused by high-speed dust extraction in the furnace, and the combination of cement or no cement, ultra-fine powder technology, excellent binder and high-efficiency admixture are adopted. Under the guidance of the basic theory of refractory materials, the formula is scientifically formulated according to the different use and operation conditions of various electric furnaces and refining furnaces. It is prepared by accurately mixing the particle size composition and reasonably selecting the binder and admixture.

The electric furnace roof is a spherical structure with electrode holes and smoke exhaust holes. The outer ring part is called the main furnace cover, and the middle part is called the small furnace cover (also known as the triangle area), which can be removed during charging. The smelting process of electric furnaces is extremely complex, and the service conditions of prefabricated parts in triangular area are very harsh. It is mainly affected by electrode arc radiation, rapid cooling and heating, chemical erosion of molten steel and slag, impact wear of high-speed airflow during dust removal and unreasonable furnace cover structure.

 

Equipment Composition

The LF furnace roof is a water-cooled structure, and the inner layer is lined with refractory. In order to prevent the adhesion between the furnace cover and the ladle caused by splashing, an anti-splash baffle is hung under the furnace cover. In order to protect the reducing atmosphere in the furnace, prevent the heat dissipation of the ladle and improve the thermal efficiency, the furnace cover and the ladle mouth shall be well sealed.

 

Features

The arc temperature produced by electrode discharge of the electric furnaces is more than 3000, which seriously damages the working face of the electric furnace roof. In the arcing stage, the arc is exposed above the charge, the charge is close to the furnace top, and the heat radiation is large. The longer the arc, the greater the power, the greater the radiant heat to the furnace top, and the faster the damage to the furnace top. Generally, steel mills need a lower level of power transmission to control the arc length during arc striking. In the process of well drilling, high voltage and high current power supply are gradually used to protect the furnace roof.

 

The high-speed air flow formed by the dust removal system impacts and wears the working surface of the electric furnace cover. When the pumping force is insufficient, most of the flue gas and flame generated by scrap melting escape from the gap between the electrode and the electrode hole. Due to the long-term violent scouring of the airflow, the electrode hole is expanded seriously. When the main electric furnace cover is spherical or arc-shaped, the working surface of the small electric furnace roof will be eroded into an arc. Therefore, operators should regularly clean up the sundries in the flue of the dust removal system to avoid blocking the flue and affecting the dust removal effect.

 

Some chemical components react with the working face and penetrate into the working face to form the metamorphic layer. When the temperature changes suddenly, the thermal stress makes the metamorphic layer peel off, and then forms a new working face, which is damaged by circulation. The higher the distance between the liquid level of the molten pool and the working face of a small electric furnace roof, the smaller the splash effect and the smaller the influence of chemical erosion. The general height is more than 1.5m.
