Vertical Continuous Casting Machine

Vertical Continuous Casting Machine is continuous casting equipment of continuous casting steel and iron making type, in which the whole process of casting and slab solidification is carried out in the vertical state. This continuous casting and rolling equipment include a series of equipment such as tundish, crystallizer, secondary cooling zone, tension leveler, cutting equipment, and receiving fixed-scale billet.

After the molten steel is injected into the crystallizer from the tundish, the initial solidified billet is accelerated through the secondary cooling zone and pulled out by the billet puller at the set pulling speed.

After cutting, the fixed-length billet enters the steel turnover bucket. After the turnover bucket receives the billet, the billet is placed in a horizontal state and transported out by the conveying roller table (the pit caster has a hoist to lift the billet to the floor surface and then output by the ground roller table),

Alternatively, the steel tipper is tilted to the inclined crawler conveyor, the crawler conveyor will send the billet to the ground, output it by the ground roller table, and then the steel drawing (or pushing) machine will push the billet to the centralized cooling bed.

 

Feature

 

The Main Process Features of a vertical continuous casting machine :

(1) The molten steel is injected into the vertical mold from the tundish, and the large particle inclusions and some small inclusions in the molten steel may float to the surface.

When casting with protective slag, the inclusions can be absorbed by the protective slag, while the inclusions remaining in the slab are evenly distributed, and the accumulation of inclusions in the slab during arc continuous casting will not occur.

(2) The cooling of the billet is uniform, and the symmetry of the solidification structure is well.

(3) The billet is not affected by external forces such as bending and straightening in the solidification process and the caster, there will be no crack defects caused by mechanical stress in the billet, and due to the large static pressure of molten steel, it is easy to solidify and feed, so vertical continuous casting is suitable for pouring alloy steel and steel with high crack sensitivity.
