Tundish Car

Continuous caster tundish car is special vehicles that support and carry tundish. The continuous casting process requires that the tundish must be preheated (usually preheated to 1100 ℃) before pouring steel, and then can enter the steel pouring position to receive molten steel. In the process of entering the steel pouring position, in order to protect the nozzle, the tundish must be raised. After reaching the pouring position, the raised tundish must be adjusted so that the nozzle is aligned with the center of the mold. Therefore, the tundish truck must have the functions of walking, lifting, and lateral fine-tuning.

The tundish car consists of the following devices: running device, lifting device, fine-tuning device, long nozzle loading, and unloading device, weighing device, ladle operating platform, power supply towline chain, ladle sliding nozzle hydraulic station, mold slag feeding device, supply gas system, oil supply system, overflow tanker, etc.
According to the process layout and operation requirements, tundish cars are available in floor type, semi-door type, overhead type, and other forms.

Tundish car is equipped with AC electrical motor with variable frequency, hydraulic tundish lifting, and tundish horizontal position centering so that protecting casting and tundish nozzle centering can be easily operated.

Technical Requirements for Tundish Cars

 

The tundish car is arranged on the pouring platform of the continuous casting machine and is used to transport the dried and baked tundish from the preparation position to the pouring position.
